The Korean Conflict
After WWII, Korea was divided along the 38th parallel, due to their being a industrial north, and an agriculture south. The two sides were very different, with the north side being communist, and the south being democratic, which still remains the same today. On July 25th, 1950, the Korean War broke out, which was a battle between the North and South, but eventually the US and China came in. The Soviet Union aided the North Koreans with plenty of supplies, such as money, tanks, guns, and planes. The South was aided by the UN and the US.
On September 1950, the North Koreans pushed to the very end of the peninsula. When the UN and US came in, the tide of the war changed. They pushed up the Koreans back up near the Chinese border. Due to this, the Chinese felt threatened, and sent 300,000 troops into North Korea to fight. The battle of Porkchop hill was the final battle of the Korean Conflict, with the Inchon Retreat and the Battle of Pusan Perimeter being two other major battles. On July 1953, the Korean War finally ended.
